An award-winning journalist and author, Michele Weldon is an assistant professor emerita of journalism at the Medill School of Northwestern University. She is the director of Medill Public Thought Leaders, as well as Northwestern Public Voices Fellowship for the OpEd Project and codirector of TEDX NorthwesternU 2104. Her nonfiction books include I Closed My Eyes, Writing to Save Your Life, and Everyman News: The Changing American Front Page; she has also contributed chapters to several other books. Weldon has written columns, news, and features for newspapers, Web sites, magazines, and radio such as the New York Times, Al Jazeera, the Chicago Tribune, the Christian Science Monitor, CNN, the Dallas Times Herald, and many more. She has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, NPR, NBC, ABC, CNN, and Al Jazeera America.
