About The Book

THE CROSSOVER 50 YEARS IN THE MAKING!

What if the old Battle Action comic was merged with 2000 AD in the early ‘80s? That’s the question posed by this all-new collection that reveals the answer is – action-packed thrills by the bucket-load. It takes old Battle Action strips and reworks them as 2000 AD-appropriate adventures, while remaining true to their original concept and continuity.

This kick-ass crossover sees Judge Dredd feature in a brand-new reimagining of Action’s most controversial strip – Kids Rule O.K., and also includes Darkie’s Mob, Death Game 2049 and Major Eazy amongst others.

Written by Ken Niemand (Judge Dredd), Geoffrey D. Wessel (War Birds), Chris Weston (Rogue Trooper), Karl Stock (Fiends of West Berlin), Arthur Wyatt (Dredd), Gordon Rennie (Judge Dredd), Mike Carroll (Dreadnaughts), Alec Worley (Robo-Hunter) and Alex De Campi (Archie vs. Predator), with art by Simon Coleby (The Authority), Nick Dyer (Tales from the Black Museum), Paul Marshall (Sinister Dexter), Jake Lynch (HAVN), Dan Cornwell (Rok of the Reds), Nick Percival (Slaine), Kieran McKeown (Crime Syndicate), Staz Johnson (Vikings) and Patrick Goddard (Battle Action).

About The Authors

A Forces brat, Kenneth Niemand's first exposure to the world of Judge Dredd was through random copies of 2000AD circulating in various RAF bases around the world. He now writes radio comedy, video games and, increasingly, bits and pieces of the world of Judge Dredd.

Chris Weston has drawn a vast array of 2000 AD and Megazine stories, including Indigo Prime, Downlode Tales, Future Shocks, Canon Fodder, Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock, Nikolai Dante, Pulp Sci-Fi, Robo-Hunter, Rogue Trooper and Vector 13. Beyond 2000 AD, Weston’s work includes Fantastic Four: First Family, Enemy Ace: War in Heaven, The Filth, The Invisibles, Ministry of Space and Garth Ennis’s War Story: Johann’s Tiger.

Karl Stock has written Tharg's Future Shocks for 2000AD, Dredd prose fiction for the Judge Dredd Megazine and strips including Sniper Elite and Death Wish for Rebellion titles such as Battle, The Vigilant and Cor! & Buster, as well as interviews and features about comics for the Judge Dredd Megazine, Tripwire, Comic Heroes and more. He is the co-author of the 40th anniversary edition of Thrill-Power Overload, 2000AD's official history, and lives in Scotland.

Arthur Wyatt lives in the Pacific Northwest of America with his wife Heather and two children. His writing includes the sequel comics to the 2012 Dredd movie and Intestinauts for 2000 AD.

Gordon Rennie is one of 2000 AD's most prolific creators, with co-creative credits for Caballistics, Inc., Missionary Man, Necronauts, Storming Heaven, Rain Dogs and Witchworld. Rennie has written for Heavy Metal and Warhammer, as well as Species, Starship Troopers and White Trash.

Michael Carroll is the author of over forty books, including the award-winning New Heroes series of Young Adult superhero novels and the #1 Amazon best-selling cult graphic novel Judge Dredd: Every Empire Falls. He currently writes Proteus Vex and Judge Dredd for 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Megazine. Other works include Jennifer Blood for Dynamite Entertainment, Razorjack for Titan Books (co-written with artist John Higgins), and the Rico Dredd trilogy for Abaddon Books, for whom he has also created the acclaimed JUDGES series which explores the genesis of the world of Judge Dredd. Alec Worley is a comics writer whose credits include Judge Dredd, Anderson, Age of the Wolf and Dandridge (all for 2000 AD), as well as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Wars (for Panini). He also writes fiction set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe.

Alex de Campi's mostly-indie career stretches from her Eisner-nominated debut Smoke (Dark Horse) through recent Eisner nominees Bad Girls (Gallery 13) and Twisted Romance (Image). Plus company work: she's killed off most of Riverdale, twice, in Archie vs Predator I & II. Her next projects are YA adventure The Backups (Imprint / MacMillan, 2020) and a thriller with director Duncan Jones.
