Awakening Creativity

A Pilgrimage to Transformation

Published by Hierophant Publishing
Distributed by Simon & Schuster

About The Book

This inspirational and transformational guide invites readers on a sacred pilgrimage to connect with their inner creativity. Each chapter focuses on the lessons of a different creative “temple.” Readers will learn to embrace and heal their relationship with creativity through reflections and exercises throughout.

Do you hear the call to creativity? Some of us yearn to paint, draw, sculpt, sing, or dance, but are too afraid of failing to try. Others were once artists but stopped creating after our work was shamed by others, causing a creativity wound.

In Awakening Creativity, author, artist, and creativity coach Carrie Schmitt invites you on a sacred pilgrimage to heal your wounds and unlock your creative potential. In each chapter, you will travel to a different “temple,” exploring a creative theme through stories of famous artists and spiritual traditions from around the world. Every stop on your journey includes exercises and reflections designed to deepen your connection with your inner artist. As you travel, you will create your own “vade mecum” guidebook, which will become a treasured collection of devotional readings, blessings, artwork, and the revelations you experience along the way.

Many of us have at some time or another said, “I’m just not that creative.” Schmitt fervently believes that this is not true. There is a creative spirit in everyone, just waiting to be acknowledged. With Awakening Creativity, you can learn to embrace yours.
