About The Book

An empowering children's book that celebrates the many ways people throughout history have stood up for their beliefs and changed the world.

STAND UP! is a perfect tool for social studies teachers, elementary school educators, parents, and caregivers who want to teach children about the importance of standing up for themselves and others.

This engaging social justice book for young readers includes stories of famous and lesser known marginalized individuals from around the globe.

From 15-year-old Claudette Colvin’s courageous act of sitting down to stand up against segregation, to countless other heroes who have fought for justice, STAND UP! highlights the power of protest and the impact of speaking out against injustice.

In a world where injustice happens due to silence, this book serves as a crucial tool to inspire the next generation of leaders. STAND UP! encourages children to recognize their own power and to use their voices to create positive change for people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
