In Strile’s Depth, everything has been settled and named since time out of mind. The only frontier left is punching through the skins of universes, called ‘phaslairs,’ to delve younger realities remotely in the bodies of those that live there.

Running through the many phaslairs is the fabled Well, a fissure in existence into which horrors have been flung for millions of years – including an impossibly ancient king, cast down before history to the wastelands of a thousand apocalyptic worlds, never to return.

Draebol Naeglis Zet Thurn, a hapless explorer in the service of an unknown patron, has charted more than seventeen thousand phaslairs. Somewhere in his maps is the key to the Well, a map so valuable that a kaleidoscope of aliens – including Whira, an agent of a powerful Sovereign – will cross every universe to reach it. Racing, quite possibly, to their deaths.
